Visiting the website

Cloudflare hosts and protects this website. It may process technical request information, including IP address, requested URL, browser details and timing, to deliver pages, maintain security and provide hosting statistics. Our pages do not load advertising pixels or third-party analytics scripts.

We do not sell personal information or use reader browsing to change election projections. External source links open services with their own privacy practices.

Preferences on your device

Your chosen light or dark theme is saved in your browser’s local storage. It is not sent to a 21CEE account or used as an advertising identifier. See the cookie and local-storage policy for controls.

When you email us

We receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. Messages to our public addresses pass through Cloudflare Email Routing and arrive in an Apple iCloud inbox. We use them to answer questions, handle media inquiries and administer the project.

We keep correspondence as needed for those purposes and any applicable obligations. You can request access, correction or deletion by emailing us; service-provider backups or legal requirements may limit immediate deletion.

Reader Pulse and newsletters

Reader Pulse is an optional survey for adults. If you participate, we save your selected answers, question and edition identifiers, response times, and a random browser session identifier. Some questions concern political opinions. We request your express agreement before saving answers. Public results contain aggregate counts, with answer breakdowns withheld until at least five responses to a question; they are not representative voter polling. No public individual-answer or email list is provided.

The separate email signup collects an email address and, only with additional consent, the sex, broad age range and party leaning you choose to provide. Every demographic question may be skipped. These optional answers are stored with the signup email for audience research, encrypted at the application layer. We do not automatically link email signups to Reader Pulse answers, sell these records, use them for individual political targeting, or send them to advertising or analytics systems. Email addresses are currently unverified; no newsletters or confirmation emails are being sent.

Cloudflare hosts the private database and application. Credentials and encryption keys stay in server-side secrets. Access is restricted to authorized operation of these services. Hosting security logs may contain technical request information. Abuse controls use keyed, hourly-changing network hashes and expire their counters after two hours; the application does not save raw IP addresses alongside answers.

Poll records expire after 365 days of browser inactivity; signup records expire 365 days after collection. Expired records are removed on subsequent API cleanup. Use “Withdraw my reader data” to remove this browser’s poll answers and recalculate live totals. Clearing the cookie first prevents that browser from authenticating its prior answers. To request signup access, correction or deletion, email info@the21cee.com; ownership confirmation is required. Deleted records may remain in service-provider recovery copies for their normal retention period. No system can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and questions

You can browse without an account, clear saved preferences and choose whether to contact us. Depending on your location, you may have rights concerning personal information; send requests to info@the21cee.com. We may need to confirm ownership before handling a request. This notice will be updated when our practices change.
